The use of mirrors in the interior
A mirror is a very interesting interior detail that can radically change the whole room. It can change the perception of space, its dimensions and make adjustments to the lighting. It is necessary to use a mirror in the design of residential premises carefully and following some rules, because incorrect use of it can lead to an unsatisfactory result.

Traditionally, mirrors in the interior can most often be seen in the hallway, bathroom and at the dressing table. In all these cases mirrors have a practical use, they serve to be able to see your reflection. But with the help of this piece of furniture, you can realize a lot of interesting decorative solutions and design techniques. Moreover, you can use both a standard mirror, which can be bought at any store, and a custom-made mirror. So where exactly and how can mirrors be used in terms of design?
Mirror in the hallway
A universal option for the hallway is a vertical, rectangular mirror. Thanks to this form, the ceilings visually rise and the boundaries of the room expand. It can be hung on the wall or mounted on the cabinet door. If you decide to buy a horizontal mirror, then it can be successfully combined with a table or cabinet, but you should not forget that this form is not recommended for rooms with low ceilings. To raise a low ceiling will help its facing with mirror plates. A full-length mirror looks luxurious and spectacular in the hallway, but it is better to use it in a large, spacious hall. Small, miniature mirrors can also be an interesting and stylish solution, for example, if you use several identically shaped pieces in the same frame, for example, round mirrors of different sizes located on the same wall.
Bathroom mirror
There are many options for using mirrors in the bathroom. It is wall-mounted in a frame above the washbasin, or combined with a cabinet of the "moydodyr" type, these are small wall-mounted cosmetic mirrors or on stands, mirrored cabinet doors, shelves and much more. If you are a happy owner of a spacious bathroom, a full-length mirror on a stand will be a stylish piece of furniture. To expand the boundaries of the room, you can use mirrored wall or ceiling cladding, the same effect can be achieved if you make the bath screen mirror.
Mirror in the bedroom
It is difficult to imagine a bedroom without a mirror, but the place for it should be chosen very carefully. As you know, you should not place it so that the bed is reflected in it, since sleeping, reflected in the mirror, is not very pleasant psychologically. But you can place it against the wall to which the head of the bed adjoins, or even completely veneer this wall with mirror plates. A large massive floor or wall mirror will also be a good option for both spacious and compact bedrooms. It would be useful to place it in the wardrobe area or above the chest of drawers.
Mirror in the nursery
Do not forget about the mirror when it comes to arranging the children’s room. At first glance, it seems that the child does not need it, but this is an erroneous opinion. For a child, a mirror is an important source of information about himself and it is simply necessary for his harmonious development. But some rules must be followed. For example, as in the case of the bedroom, you should not place the mirror so that the bed is reflected in it, because when the child is awake, it can simply be frightened. You should also keep in mind the safety of the child and should not install this fragile item where it can be hooked or broken. On the wall, it should be located at a sufficient height and not be in the play area. A chest of drawers with a mirror or a hanging mirror in the wardrobe area is a very suitable option for a children's room.
Mirror in the living room
The living room is that part of an apartment or house where mirrors in the interior are used very widely and in a variety of ways. Large, small, rectangular, round mirrors, single or in a group, are appropriate for the living room. The choice depends on the characteristics of the interior and premises. With the help of a mirror, you can solve the problem of insufficient lighting by positioning the mirror so that it reflects the light source. This technique is appropriate for both artificial lighting and natural. Just do not place the table opposite the window, it will be much more successful to move it perpendicular to the window. A mirror placed in this way will enhance the natural light of the room. But if the mirror is placed between two windows, you can get the effect of the "third window" and an additional light source. The effect of increasing the height of the room is given by mirrors located on the ceiling. For example, if some structures were mounted on the ceiling that took a few centimeters of height, then the mirror lining will make up for these losses. These can be large mirror sheets or small mirror tiles. The same technique is widely used on the walls. If your living room has a long, elongated shape, its geometry can be corrected by hanging a mirror on a long wall or ordering wall cladding with mirror paintings or small mirror fragments.
And, of course, do not forget about the classics - mirrors placed above the fireplace or sofa. This is always a winning option, regardless of the area or style of the room. As a decorative element, you can use custom-made mirrors that have various unusual shapes, for example, several mirrored flowers, leaves, mirrors in the form of silhouettes of people or some other creative shape that is in harmony with the idea or style of the interior.
