For many of us, carpets are symbols of the Soviet and post-Soviet times. Carpets were everywhere - on the walls, on the floor. And if on the floor they had at least some practical value, then with the walls it was always not very clear why they were there and what purposes they served. Therefore, when the popularity of carpets passed, they were replaced by another extreme - the almost complete absence of carpets. Minimalistic interior styles only supported this trend, so that in modern interiors carpets were almost completely absent, both floor and wall.
