Loft style in the interior
The loft style is a very attractive interior style, which, although many people like it, not everyone decides to use it as their “home” interior style. Many are afraid to implement it in the interior because of its overly characteristic appearance.

The loft style originates from the premises that were called lofts - abandoned and empty workshops, warehouses. Gradually, this space and a slightly abandoned, but at the same time well-groomed and brutal appearance began to move into interior solutions and all this led to the loft style that we now have. This style has many advantages and almost no disadvantages. Moreover, it is very popular with the owners of modern youth establishments, be it a club, a bar, an anti-cafe or something else. And although the loft style may seem very simple to implement, it is absolutely not. In fact, to achieve the desired effect, you need to have some knowledge. Naturally, interior designers have this knowledge. A simple person, without specific knowledge, can only ruin everything by turning his home into a sloppy room with strange interior solutions. But, fortunately, there are many articles that will tell you how to create a loft-style interior in your apartment, including us.
Layout
Initially, lofts were habitable premises in non-residential buildings. So one of the characteristic features of this style are high ceilings and large windows. And, speaking of high ceilings, we mean ceilings above 3 meters. Naturally, in a standard apartment this style is not easy to implement. But on the other hand, it is quite suitable for duplex apartments, private houses, in which you can raise the ceiling yourself as much as you need. Also, an important point is the minimum of partitions. Most often there is no expressive division into rooms, with walls, doors, and the like. Just a large space that includes a living room, a bedroom and a kitchen, for example, which is zoned with floor coverings, multi-level floors, sofas and bar counters.
Brick and concrete
One of the most characteristic features of the interior in the loft style are brick or concrete walls. For brick walls, either real bricks or tiles that imitate it are usually used. Naturally, in a situation with imitation of a brick wall, the use of wallpaper is completely inappropriate - they do not have the necessary volume and texture. But to imitate a concrete wall, the wallpaper is ideal. This option is appropriate for the bedroom. You can also just use a roughly plastered concrete surface - and no imitation is needed. Well, for flooring, porcelain stoneware imitating stone or concrete is perfect. Also suitable parquet or laminate.
Furniture
Loft furniture is an example of simple, comfortable and practical furniture. The most commonly used upholstery is leather, textured suede, burlap. In general, natural and practical fabrics are very popular. In this style of interior, stools must be present. In the kitchen, in the living room, in the bedroom - it doesn't matter, the main thing is that they are useful. Usually popular are stools made of wood, metal, with seats covered in leather or leatherette. For a loft, the arrangement of furniture along the walls is uncharacteristic, on the contrary, they are usually placed closer to the center of the room to create a feeling of space and freedom.
Colors
This interior is actively used urban colors. Colors such as ocher, red, burgundy are actively interspersed with black, white, gray and metallic. Of course, these are not the best options for a children’s room, but otherwise they fit perfectly into such an interior. In general, bright decorative accents will be appropriate, just make sure that there are not too many of them, otherwise they can hide the style of the interior and all your efforts will be wasted.
Lighting
The lighting system itself here is quite classic - multi-level lighting, overhead light, table and wall lamps, LED strip lighting in some places. But the stylistic decisions made regarding lighting fixtures are rather non-standard. Elegant chandeliers, lamps with stained-glass windows, floor lamps covered with fabric - all this is completely unsuitable for this interior. Instead, spotlights, spotlights and even bare light bulbs are actively used. And all this is attached to bare dangling wires, which are another highlight of the interior. Of course, in the bathroom it is worth making concessions and securing the room, but the interior of the kitchen or living room cannot do without such a specific “decoration”.
