Differences between male and female interiors
The modern world is gradually moving away from gender stereotypes. Concepts such as female or male behavior are actively questioned. And this process is reflected in many areas, including in the interior. There is a huge number of interiors that cannot be unequivocally called male or female. However, despite the rejection of stereotypical thinking, such concepts as women's and men's interiors still exist.

After all, the conditions of our upbringing cannot be thrown into the trash, and even the most inattentive person understands that girls and boys are brought up differently, which affects our different perceptions. Therefore, we can safely say that the requirements of men and women for the interior vary significantly. And this point must be taken into account. Naturally, this article will not take into account the houses of married couples, since in such situations universal interior styles are simply used. This article will focus on houses and apartments that belong to unmarried women and unmarried men who live alone and have no need to adapt to the opposite sex.
No strict polarity
You need to understand that although there are certain differences in the interiors for men and women, this does not mean at all that these are strict rules that must be strictly followed. Therefore, neither the designer nor the homeowner himself should succumb to unnecessary stereotypes. And you need to focus solely on what the owner of the apartment or house considers comfortable. Moreover, even in interiors that correspond to the concept of "male" or "female" there is always a place for opposite elements. Thus, in a man's apartment there can always be a place for an exquisite flower painting, and in a woman's apartment - a stylish, minimalist coffee table in the living room. Simply put, interior design has its own rules, but these are not strict canons. In addition, it is not at all strange when a man wants an elegant, refined apartment, and a woman dreams of a minimalist, slightly daring interior. Everyone is different and that's important to remember.
Color spectrum
In most cases, women girls prefer lighter colors. Well, men, in turn, tend to be darker. Most often, a woman’s home will please with light and pastel colors that will create an aura of femininity, tranquility, peace. And it doesn’t have to be the proverbial pink, although many of its shades look so amazing that it’s hard to refuse them - powdery, dirty pink, creamy pink, etc. But in the women's interior, you can often find turquoise, and green, and blue, and blue, lavender. It is rather about the fact that light shades are used, and not only in the bedroom, but throughout the house in general. Men have more characteristic dark tones due to the fact that all the pastel miracle described above is simply not in the nature of men. They are closer to brown, gray, black. Colors such as red, blue, purple, blue are also found, but mostly their dark shades. But it is also interesting to note that bright colors are equally common in both male and female interiors, as this is, as it were, a recognized neutral territory that does not have a gender color.
Texture
Women are much more sensitive than men. And because of this, there is a certain desire for tactile comfort in them. For girls and women, tactile sensations are very important. So in the interior there is an abundance of pleasant textiles - here you have carpets, and decorative pillows, and soft bedspreads, and curtains. The interior itself generally has a penchant for everything soft and warm. A rare girl will prefer cold materials - wood will be preferred to metal, bare stone will lose to wall panel, etc. Men pay less attention to tactile sensations, but pay much more attention to showiness. For them, the interior should be something expressive, demonstrating their masculinity, characterizing their character. So in the men's interior you can see metal, natural leather, stone. Men tend to bring something biting into their interior and this is much more important for them than tactile sensations.
Self-expression
In any interior there is self-expression. It's just that in most cases the ways for this are chosen by men and women are different. Women are more likely to express themselves through little things, nuances and zest. In general, such an interior can look very simple, but the hostess puts her own meaning into each decor element, each color carries its own message. Therefore, although at first glance everything can be simple and unpretentious, but in fact, in such an interior there is depth and meaning, a certain message, which, of course, a simple guest will not guess. And understanding of the depth will be available only to close people who know a lot about the hostess of this interior. In men, self-expression occurs through scale and showiness. They will not bother picking up curtains in the kitchen. The guys look at the interior on a larger scale - a massive dining table, an expressive accent wall, a voluminous staircase, etc.
