Chinese style interior

Asian interiors are very different from each other. The most obvious comparison would be Japanese and Chinese interior styles. Despite the fact that these countries are located nearby, their language, writing and even mythology are very similar in many respects, traditional styles differ simply dramatically. Since the article has already been devoted to the Japanese interior style, now it is worth considering the Chinese interior style in order to understand how, at first glance, similar cultures can differ in their content, mentality and traditions.

The Chinese interior is characterized by expressive colors. Red, black, gold, yellow, green, purple - each of the colors has its own meaning and "attracts" certain benefits. White color is not very popular, as it is considered a mourning color. Of course, in a modern interior, its original meaning has been lost, but this is also noticeable in such moments as the absence of these colors in furniture and decor. In general, Chinese-style housing looks much more “rich” than similar Japanese-style housing.

This style of interior is not characterized by sharp lines, sharp corners, clear shapes. Traditionally, everything is soft, rounded, with smooth features and interesting, ornate carvings. The shape of the furniture is traditional and does not change, as it is part of the mentality of this country. In general, all the furniture is quite low, both in the bedroom and in the dining room you will not find items such as bar stools.

The interior is characterized by ceramic decor. This is even the main "trick", as in the Japanese interior. But, if Japanese ceramics has strict, classical forms, a minimum of colors and opaque hints at minimalist predilections, then Chinese ceramics is completely different. Bright colors, expressive ornament in the form of hieroglyphs, flowers, landscapes drawn in a traditional style. For the living room, this is a great decoration that looks spectacular and looks appropriate.

In general, it is better to aim for more progressive versions of the Chinese interior, which are made in softer colors, as traditional bright colors will tire you very quickly, and refined and rich furniture in everyday life will not be as comfortable as more modern options. For a children’s room, the traditional option is all the more unacceptable, since the child needs convenience, not beauty.
