Constructivism in the interior

Such an interior style as constructivism appeared approximately in the 30s of the 20th century. And he gained his popularity in a fairly short time. It is worth noting that most of the interior styles of those times focused directly on the "appearance", while constructivism was more focused on certain standards of comfort and convenience. It was due to the fact that he was quite different from the majority that he became something interesting, unusual and popular.

Constructivism in interior design

The basis of this style, as mentioned earlier, is not the appearance (although attention is also paid to it), but the design itself. This implies that in a living room made in this style there are no “inappropriate” elements - stucco, carvings, artsy forms of furniture, eye-catching wallpaper ornament. Within the framework of this style, all this is considered as inconvenient, interfering and useless elements that significantly reduce the functionality of the item, and therefore their presence is undesirable.

Constructivism is characterized by some concreteness, practicality and convenience. The furniture has simple, practical and comfortable forms, the materials used are durable, reliable and affordable, the decor is reduced to the necessary minimum. At the same time, items are selected so that they have a specific and understandable function - a bed for sleeping, a dining table for eating, etc.

This style is suitable for self-confident people who love simplicity, moderation and minimalist aesthetics. Indeed, in this style you will not find Gothic sophistication, romanticism, baroque splendor and much more. On the other hand, creating such an interior is quite difficult, since you need to analyze the practicality of furniture, materials, decor, select the optimal forms, choose universal colors, but at the same time create some kind of individuality, which is very difficult within such strict limits. After all, despite the emphasis on the functions of furniture, this style should not be typical, boring, standard. High-quality LED lighting in the living room, built-in niches in the bedroom, etc. make a seemingly trivial interior interesting and unusual.

The most common color basis for constructivism is white, although there are other colors, but they are all light and muted so as not to put pressure on a person with brightness. Also, color accents are often used, because it is the color that allows you to create an interesting element in the interior without unnecessary load on the space. But all sorts of figurines, paintings, vases and other similar decor is reduced to a minimum. Vases are acceptable, but they have a purely practical value - to put flowers in the living room, to occupy an empty space.
